In 2020 the Government pledged more than £400 million to eradicate dormitory accommodation from mental health facilities across the country to improve the safety, privacy and dignity of patients suffering from mental illness. Significant national and local investment of £150m has been allocated for the development of new facilities across Derbyshire which we have invested in new mental health facilities and refurbishment plans.

Mental health services that are available in the community to support people with severe mental illness are improving. We are developing a new way of working and modernising community mental health services for adults and older adults, taking into account the particular needs of our local communities.
