The Canaan Trust is an independent local Homeless Charity which is operational 24-7, 365 days a year. The Trust is located in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, working with Erewash Borough Council and all other statutory agencies operational in that area within Derbyshire.
The Trust seeks to help and support any individual or family who may be homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or in need. The Trust currently has two houses in which it provides safe secure supported accommodation for homeless males aged 16 to 70 plus. In parallel the Trust works with any individual (male or female) or families who may be homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. The Trust operates a Food Aid Programme providing immediate access to essential food supplies, toiletries and hygiene products – this Food Aid Service is available 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm.
The Trust is always physically accessible (even throughout the covid lockdowns) recognising that not everyone has access to the internet or sometimes even a mobile phone – the Trust looks to safeguard and actively support anyone in need establish and maintain contact with appropriate statutory services (i.e NHS, Social Care, Council).
