Amber Valley residents needing support due to mental ill health or drug or alcohol misuse will now be able to meet with an NHS worker in the centre of Ripley, in a more welcoming environment, thanks to a collaboration between Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Amber Valley Borough Council.
Anyone referred into the Amber Valley community mental health team, and anyone wanting to refer themselves into the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership drug and alcohol service, can now come to Ripley Town Hall in the Market Place in Ripley and benefit from the improved accommodation and increased space available for patient care.
This month has seen Trust teams move from their former bases in Ripley to a new home on the first floor of Ripley Town Hall. The Substance Misuse team has moved from The Mews in Ripley. The Amber Valley Working Age Adult Community Mental Health Team and the Amber Valley Older Age CMHT have both moved from Ripley Library.
While all teams will now have the postal address of Ripley Town Hall, at Market Place, Ripley, DE5 3BT, phone numbers for all teams remain the same:
• Substance Misuse: 01773 744594
• Amber Valley Working Age Adult CHMT: 0300 123 2673
• Amber Valley Older Adult CHMT: 0300 123 2673
Area Service Manager Hayley Turner commented: “It has been a really cohesive and collaborative project. There will be a huge positive impact for the staff working within the new environment and moving forwards there will be improvement in patient experience.”
Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council Cllr Kevin Buttery commented: “This is a good example of partnership working. We are very happy to have been able to provide space within the town hall for the Trust to deliver these important services to the local community. The arrangement will also provide valuable income for the council as we look to balance our budget while still ensuring high quality services can be delivered to the people of Amber Valley.”
