A group of 14 young people on placement with the National Citizen Service (NCS) each gave 30 hours of time to raise money for young people with mental health issues.
The group volunteered to help with the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) teams in Derby.
The NCS volunteers spent two days at Temple House in Mill Hill Lane, Derby, and for several hours they washed cars, raising £100 for Young Minds.
They also did some paintings which the CAMHS teams are planning to display in some of their buildings.
A spokesperson for Derby CAMHS said: “We were glad to help the NCS group as we thought this was a great opportunity for participation and community involvement.”
NCS is a three to four-week experience aimed at 15-17-year-olds that helps to build their self-confidence and skills with a focus on team-building activities, volunteering and fund-raising for charity.
