Trust service user and Reverse Advent organiser Emily was joined by Trust Chief Operating Officer Mark Powell to hand out Christmas hampers at the Radbourne Unit.
Emily, with the support of friends and family, colleagues within t
he Trust and external businesses, has collected items for service users in the unit to receive at Christmas, such as nice toiletries, games and puzzles and other treats.
The Reverse Advent initiative, now in its fifth year, came about when Emily herself was an inpatient at the unit and realised how few home comforts some of the service users had at Christmas time.
She handed a hamper to each ward on the unit. Hampers included gifts for the ward, toiletries for service users, small items that could be wrapped as Christmas presents and items useful for occupational therapy. Emily also handed over a large collection of games and jigsaws to the recreation team.
Those donating items to the appeal included:
• Students on the University of Derby Mental Health Nursing course
• Friends of Peak Running
• Sanctuary Spa
• ManCave
• Flying Tiger – Derby.

And at the Hartington Unit too
Colleagues at the Hartington Unit have also been collecting items for service users and will be handing them out over the Christmas period. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and made a positive difference to our service users.
