Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will focus on 70 years of the NHS at its Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) on Thursday 20 September from 5pm-7pm at the Post Mill Centre in South Normanton.
The Trust provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services across Derbyshire, as well as children’s services in Derby.
The meeting offers people a chance to reflect on the organisation’s progress over the last 12 months and understand its plans for the year ahead. The meeting will also reflect local and national celebrations of the 70th birthday of the NHS during 2018.
'Share and showcase our achievements'
The AMM will be hosted by Trust Chair Caroline Maley, who said: “The Annual Members’ Meeting is our main opportunity each year to share and showcase our achievements and performance, and I would like to encourage those that we serve – the people of Derbyshire – to come along to the AMM on 20 September and learn more.
“We always strive to make these meetings more than just a summary of our financial position, though we will touch on that too, as we are proud to have balanced our books for another year. This year’s meeting will focus on NHS 70 with a display including cards from members, service users, carers and staff with personalised messages expressing their appreciation of our services. The formal meeting will feature the celebrations that the Trust has organised to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS.
“The event also gives our members the chance to put questions to our Board of Directors, to chat with their local governor and pick up a copy of our Annual Report and Accounts. It should be an interesting event.”
As a Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Healthcare has members across Derby and Derbyshire and has a duty to keep them informed about the organisation and its services. Everyone is welcome and members of the public can sign up as Trust members on the day.
Attendees are invited to arrive from 4.45pm for refreshments and to view the NHS 70 display before the formal meeting starts at 5pm. There will also be an opportunity to meet and speak to Trust governors. View the full agenda.
